Do pets need salmon oil?
Salmon oil is a fantastic addition to the diet of your furry bestie, in particular those with special health needs or who may suffer from dietary gaps. It can work wonders on your dog's skin, coat, joints, heart, and even help with allergies and inflammation.
It’s also particularly beneficial for puppies during their growth and development stages, as well as for senior dogs to support joint and cognitive health.
How do I know if my pet needs salmon oil?
Several signs and symptoms in dogs may indicate a potential need for an omega-3 supplement like fish oil. Here are some common signs:
- Dry, flaky skin
- Dull or brittle coat
- Joint stiffness and discomfort
- Allergies
- Cognitive decline
- Inflammatory conditions like inflammatory bowel disease or chronic skin inflammation
- Weakened immune system (recurring illnesses)
- Chronic shedding
Can it be used with other supplements or prescription medication?
Absolutely, salmon oil is often used in conjunction with other supplements. It works particularly well when combined with our Advanced Hip & Joint Support for joint health, Daily Probiotic for digestive health, and 23-in-1 Multivitamin to target nutritional deficiencies.
It’s always worth speaking to your vet before adding a new supplement to your dog’s diet if they use medication.
Does it need to be given with food?
For best results, our Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil should be given on top of or with food.
How old does my dog have to be?
Our oil is suitable for pets of all ages, including young and senior animals.
Portable Laser Therapy
Are there any side effects?
When used correctly, it doesn’t have any known side effects!
Please note that it should not be used in pregnant animals, animals with cancer or benign tumors and those with hemorrhagic diseases. The laser should never be used on or near an inflamed lymph node or the thyroid gland, located on the front side of the neck.
How can it benefit my pet?
- Inflammation
- Osteoarthritis & other joint conditions
- Dental diseases
- Bacterial skin infections, ear infections & other wounds
- IVDD, spinal trauma & back pain
- ACL/CCL Tears
How do I use it?
The laser should be used on its highest setting for a 10-15 minute treatment session, repeated up to twice a day. Treatments should be done for 4 weeks, with a 1-week break after 14 days (5 weeks total). This cycle can be repeated indefinitely.
Please use the reference chart below to determine the appropriate treatment plan for your pet’s needs.
USAGE GUIDE | |||
---|---|---|---|
Treatment Purpose | Power Setting | Time | Frequency |
ACL/CCL Injury | Level 4 | 15mins | Twice daily |
Arthritis/Serious Joint Pain | Level 4 | 15mins | Twice daily |
Dental Disease | Level 2 | 10mins | Once daily |
Mild Inflammation & Mild Joint Pain | Level 4 | 10mins | Twice daily |
Skin/Ear Infections & Wounds | Level 2 | 10mins | Twice daily |
Spinal Trauma/IVDD | Level 4 | 15mins | Twice daily |
How long do I need to use this to see the effects?
This depends on what you’re treating and on your pet. We recommend using the laser for a minimum of 5 weeks for joint pain/ligament injuries (2 weeks on, one week off, 2 weeks back on for a total 4 weeks of usage).
Minor wounds/incision sites can be treated with 1 daily dose for a week, as this is typically sufficient to speed up healing. Treatment of bacterial infections will depend on the species of bacteria and the extent of the infection. Minor infections could resolve in as little as a week, whereas more severe infections may need antibiotic treatment in combination with LLLT.
Can this hurt my pet?
No, our Portable Laser Therapy doesn’t emit any heat or cause any discomfort to your pup. Please note that it shouldn’t be used on pregnant animals, animals with cancer or benign tumors and those with hemorrhagic diseases.
The laser should never be used on or near an inflamed lymph node or the thyroid gland, located on the front side of the neck.
The light can also cause retinal damage if directed at the eye so use it with caution and never directly point the laser at you or your pet's eyes!
My pet has a thick or dark coat, will this affect the treatment?
Yes, the density of the coat and even the color of your pet’s skin and coat can impact how the photons are absorbed. We recommend shaving the affected area to maximize absorption.

How much should my pet take?
The effects of CBD can differ between pets even of the same weight range, so it’s important to gradually introduce it so you can find the dose that works best for them. Start by giving a quarter dropper (0.25ml) twice daily. Give this starting dose for the first five days of use and monitor how it affects your pet.
After the first five days, you can increase the dose to a half dropper (0.5ml) twice daily. This dose is considered the maintenance dose that can be given daily to your pet for symptom relief. During stressful events, or days where your pet is experiencing more symptoms than usual, you can give your pet the medicinal dose, which is a full dropper (1ml) twice daily.
