Their vision is to create a world where veterinary care is accessible to every pet family.
Their Work
Street Vet Work: Dr. Stewart and his team walk city streets, identifying individuals experiencing homelessness with pets. They offer free exams, vaccinations, flea medications, supplies, and more, ensuring pets receive the care they need.
Free Pet Clinics: In collaboration with organizations serving the homeless, Project Street Vet hosts free pet clinics. Volunteer veterinary teams provide vaccines, supplies, and minor care, establishing relationships with pet parents for follow-ups.
Financial Assistance: The organization assists qualified pet parents with their pet’s veterinary care through financial assistance grants, working directly with pet parents to fund treatments.
Impact Story: Jamel & Daisy
Jamel and his 14-year-old terrier mix, Daisy, share an unbreakable bond. When they visited a Project Street Vet clinic in Long Beach, volunteer vets quickly noticed Daisy was struggling with age-related eye issues. Though treatment wasn’t available on-site, the team went above and beyond - referring Daisy for specialized care and covering the cost of her medication through a grant.
A few days later, Jamel shared that Daisy was healing well—and that her brighter mood had lifted his spirits, too. His heartfelt message captured the power of Project Street Vet’s mission: “You guys showed us how much you really care… All is well with Daisy & I.”
